I've integrated them into our calm-down corner and small group activities focused on self-regulation. One specific project involved students creating \"Mindfulness Toolkits\" where they selected a fidget that best helped them manage their focus or stress, and then wrote reflections about how it supported their learning. During testing weeks especially, I noticed students quietly reaching for their chosen fidgets to help stay calm and centered.\r\nThe students' reactions were priceless, pure excitement and curiosity! They immediately wanted to try each fidget and share which ones felt the most helpful to them. Some students even expressed that they felt \"seen\" because the classroom now had resources that directly acknowledged the challenges of anxiety and attention. It sparked great conversations about healthy coping tools and respecting everyone's different needs.\r\nOur next steps involve incorporating these tools into a broader social-emotional learning unit. Students are working on identifying emotions, recognizing anxiety triggers, and developing personalized strategies for self-regulation. The fidgets are becoming part of their self-care strategies, and we're building toward creating personal \"calm plans\" they can use not just in school, but in their lives beyond the classroom.
