This has been especially helpful for developing listening comprehension, building vocabulary, and encouraging a love for reading. Students can easily operate the Toniebox themselves, which fosters independence and gives them choice in what they listen to.\r\n\r\nWhat excites students the most:\r\nThe biggest excitement comes from the characters! My students love picking a Tonie figure, placing it on the box, and instantly hearing a story or song. The physical interaction makes it feel like magic, and the variety of characters keeps them eager to explore new stories.\r\n\r\nStudents who have warmed to it most:\r\nI've noticed that students who are more reluctant readers have especially gravitated toward the Tonies. They feel successful and included when they can engage with stories without the pressure of decoding text. For some of my quieter students, the Toniebox has also become a comforting tool during independent learning timeāit gives them a chance to connect with stories in their own way.\r\n\r\nOverall, the Tonies have become a favorite classroom tool, sparking excitement around storytelling, supporting literacy skills, and making learning joyful for every student.","fullyFundedDate":1751549802523,"projectUrl":"project/building-brains-with-toniebox-tales/9407685/","projectTitle":"Building Brains With Toniebox Tales","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Schertz","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp4229679_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1485132773725","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/goetze"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_29841","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":37,"numTeachers":5,"percentFrplEligible":42,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":94,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":1,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"7.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":95.1,"schoolId":29841,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Spring Lake Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Spring Lake Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/illinois/spring-lake-elementary-school-district-606/spring-lake-elementary-school/29841"}
