I have a student in mind who will probably take this home and practice on the guitar over the summer with his parents permission. They were able to draw from their prior knowledge (our Weather/pressure unit) and identify what was occurring and why it happened (air pressure moving from low pressure to high pressure)! The pencils got opened right away as we have a continual need for these in my room and in others' (I plan to share!). I will use the staples as we build one, complex paper model each and every unit with staples to assemble them. Finally, the scissors sharpeners are perfect as I've tried to use a regular knife sharpener without success as it doesn't have the right-angle sharpener in the majority of sharpeners. This equates to students staying focused on their work and not breaking their concentration by getting up more often from their learning!
