As a new school librarian and former literacy coach, one of my biggest goals is to make our library a calm, welcoming, and safe space where every student feels comfortable being themselves and excited to learn.\r\n\r\nOur new resources are helping us make that vision a reality. The front-facing book bins make it easier for students to see book covers and discover something that catches their attention, encouraging them to browse and check out books they may not have noticed before. The flexible seating gives students choices about where and how they read, while the puzzle board provides a quiet way for students to relax, focus, and problem-solve. I love seeing students settle into the library, find a comfortable spot, and become completely absorbed in a book or activity.
