As a school psychologist, I saw firsthand how confidence, emotional regulation, and self-belief directly affect learning, friendships, and overall well-being. \"Hey You! You're Awesome!\" was created to intentionally meet those needs by blending social-emotional learning with hands-on, developmentally appropriate tools.\r\n\r\nWith donor support, my office is now a safe haven for students in kindergarten through 6th grade! This safe haven includes a calming corner; a space that communicates safety, encouragement, and belonging. The sensory tools, affirmations, and calming visuals give students practical strategies they can use in real time to regulate their bodies and emotions. Through daily affirmations, mindfulness activities, creative expression, and group discussions, students learn how positive self-talk, coping skills, and self-awareness can help them navigate challenges both in and out of school.\r\n\r\nThis project empowers elementary students, especially girls, to feel seen, heard, and valued. It transforms emotional learning from an abstract concept into something tangible and accessible. The impact is evident as students independently use calming strategies, speak more kindly to themselves, and approach challenges with greater confidence. Thanks to this project, my office is a space where students grow emotionally, build resilience, and truly believe: I am strong. I can handle challenges. I am awesome.","fullyFundedDate":1766002719177,"projectUrl":"project/hey-you-youre-awesome/9626773/","projectTitle":"Hey You!
