Because of you, our classroom now has a wonderful collection of physical education materials—including balls, jump ropes, hula hoops, and other materials—that have truly transformed my students' daily experience. The moment the new equipment arrived, excitement filled the room. Students who were once hesitant to join in now confidently participate, and their teamwork, cooperation, and creativity have grown with every game they invent and every activity we engage in!\r\n\r\nThese materials have not only boosted students' physical health but have also had a remarkable impact on their mental well-being. With more opportunities for movement and play, students return to the classroom more focused, calm, and ready to learn. Recess and teacher directed PE has become a time where friendships strengthen, confidence builds, and joyful movement is part of every day. We have been in school for only 30 days, but thanks to amazing donors like you, it has been the most magical and fulfilling 30 days! My students are continuously engaged in learning — whether that is in math with the help of our awesome whiteboard erasers and numeracy activities purchased with the TpT gift card, SEL learning all about our classmates with the biography posters and celebrating birthdays, or soft starts in the morning with our new playdoh.\r\n\r\nThese 2nd graders are truly having a blast with all the materials and activities you so graciously funded - so thank you for making this a wonderful start to the year and surely a memorable rest of the year! \r\n\r\nI take great pride in hearing my students come in every day saying or telling others in our school community, \"Our classroom is so fun!\" But, that would not be possible without the generosity and commitment of amazing people like you. Even in the short amount of time we've been in school, we've already shared countless laughs, smiles, and learning moments with each other thanks to your generosity and investment in our learning.\r\n\r\nIt is because of kind people like you that I am able to continue to inspire a love of reading and foster a mindset in which all students strive to be lifelong learners, continuously curious and inquisitive about the people and world around them. The moment they saw the basketballs, soccer balls, jump ropes, and playground balls, their faces lit up and they immediately began planning which games they wanted to play first. It was heartwarming to see their enthusiasm and the way they instantly included everyone in the fun.\r\n\r\nSince then, the equipment has transformed our recess time. Students are now more active and engaged, with small groups forming around different activities so everyone can find something they enjoy. I've noticed how much teamwork, cooperation, and problem-solving come into play during their games, whether it's deciding fair teams for basketball, organizing jump rope challenges, or cheering on classmates during a soccer match. The materials have not only given them new ways to stay active but also strengthened their friendships and social skills.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, these resources will continue to support our students in developing healthy habits and positive peer relationships. We're also exploring ways to connect recess activities to lessons in the classroom, such as math projects where students collect and graph data about their favorite games or writing activities where they describe strategies and teamwork experiences. Thanks to your generosity, our students are building both physical and social skills that will benefit them far beyond the playground.","fullyFundedDate":1752762591349,"projectUrl":"project/keeping-kids-active-at-recess/9401075/","projectTitle":"Keeping Kids Active at Recess","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Hayward","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10051591"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_24974","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":338,"numTeachers":34,"percentFrplEligible":38,"percentAsian":19,"percentBlack":11,"percentWhite":27,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":35,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"9.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":85.7,"schoolId":24974,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Anne Fox Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Anne Fox Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/illinois/schaumburg-community-consolidated-school-district-54/anne-fox-elementary-school/24974"}
