This is my third year teaching in this elementary self-contained, cross categorical special education classroom. I have two tall cabinets that are filled with hands-on learning activities. All of the activities were just thrown in the two cabinets when I inherited the classroom. My first step was to to sort the items so that one cabinet contained all things math, and the other cabinet contained all things ELA (English Language Arts). While the sorting helped significantly when choosing an activity, the cabinets always felt cluttered! The containers that were donated have allowed me to get rid of the bulky container and stack containers! My cabinets look so much better now! \r\n\r\nThe stools have come in handy as alternate seating options and great seats to pull up for adults helping a student at a short desk! \r\n\r\nKinetic sand is always a hit, and the purple is a nice touch, now that I have a female student in my class this year. The fidgets have had a nice calming effect when needed. \r\n\r\nThe markers, 10-frame set, and flip book have all come in handy as well! \r\n\r\nI cannot express my gratitude for your generosity enough!","fullyFundedDate":1746785757115,"projectUrl":"project/onward-upward/9203542/","projectTitle":"Onward & Upward!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Michael","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9974264_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753184746254","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9974264"},{"teacherId":9592999,"projectId":8581314,"letterContent":"My students were so excited to see what was in our mystery boxes! Their faces lit up with each new item I pulled out and they couldn't wait to start our STEM time!\r\n\r\nThey absolutely love their new STEM items! They have been able to build/engineer many new creations. I love seeing them work together to figure out how to put the magnetic rods and spheres together to create something new. The logic puzzle pieces have them really stretching their brains in new ways, as well as working on fine motor skills. The new Legos are definitely a favorite in my classroom. My students have created new buildings, vehicles, and even some \"creatures\"! Their little minds have been so hard at work figuring out what to build next! The new flexible seating chairs have been a huge hit in our room. They love that they can be used during not only STEM time, but also any time we spread out to work on anything.\r\n\r\nMy students and I greatly appreciate your generous support as do I.
