With the new equipment, we were able to set up two courts at once, which allowed more students to be actively involved and reduced wait time.\r\nOne of the biggest highlights was running \"king of the court\" games. Students were constantly rotating, competing, and working together to stay on the winning side. This created an exciting, fast-paced environment where students were motivated to improve their skills and communicate with teammates. We also combined both nets to create one large volleyball court, which gave students a unique experience playing in a larger team setting. It was a great way to practice positioning, teamwork, and game strategy on a bigger scale.\r\nWhen the students first saw the new equipment and setup, their excitement was immediate. They were eager to jump in and loved having more space and opportunities to play. Many students commented on how much more fun and competitive the games felt, and participation has noticeably increased.\r\nMoving forward, we plan to build on these experiences by continuing small-sided games like king of the court while also introducing more structured team play and mini-tournaments. Students will also begin taking on leadership roles, helping run drills and organize teams. Because of your support, we are creating a more active, engaging, and inclusive environment where every student has the chance to succeed.\r\nThank you again for making such a positive impact on our students!","fullyFundedDate":1770079101148,"projectUrl":"project/bump-set-spike-rallying-for-resources/10009673/","projectTitle":"Bump, Set, Spike: Rallying for Resources","teacherDisplayName":"Coach DJ","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2061532_orig.jpg?crop=2080,2080,x232,y112&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1763506362455","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2061532"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_29875","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":326,"numTeachers":31,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":73,"percentWhite":9,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":5,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"5 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"10.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":77.0,"schoolId":29875,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Sterling Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Sterling Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/illinois/peoria-public-school-district-150/sterling-middle-school/29875"}
