Just to give you a snapshot of what I have enjoyed observing at the club: 2nd graders through 5th graders are connecting and visiting over a craft. They are relaxed. No screens in sight! Students are helping each other master new stitches. Some students are happily just chaining and visiting. Some are tackling single crochets. All hands are busy. Plenty of giggling and chatting going on.\r\n\r\nMy happiest moment was when my 2nd grader came in with a scarf that she had completed over the long weekend all by herself. I am honestly more proud of her scarf than of any project I have completed myself! It is so gratifying to pass this on to the next generation. And it is gratifying to see students connect in ways not involving screens and ways that encourage creativity. \r\n\r\nThank you for making this possible. I have enough materials to send each student away with some yarn to continue crocheting. Plus, the crochet kits and remaining yarn will be used by future crochet clubs for years to come at our elementary school.
