Your generosity provided me with resources that have become an important part of my work as an instructional coach. More than simply providing materials, your support has given me tools to be more intentional, reflective, and strategic in the way I coach teachers and support student learning.\r\n\r\nOne of the most meaningful parts of this project has been having binders and notebooks that allow us to organize and thoughtfully examine student data. Rather than simply looking at scores or completing required data tracking, teachers and I use these materials to make the data more meaningful. We document student progress, identify patterns, reflect on what students are demonstrating, and use that information to determine our next instructional steps. These tools have helped create more focused conversations about why students are learning, or struggling to learn, and what we can do differently to help them succeed.\r\n\r\nThe notebooks have also become a space for reflection and collaboration. During coaching conversations, teachers can record their thinking, questions, instructional adjustments, and reflections on what worked and what did not. This has helped shift coaching conversations from simply discussing what happened in a classroom to thinking more deeply about how instructional decisions impact student learning.\r\n\r\nThe coaching books purchased through this project have been equally valuable. I use them as ongoing resources to strengthen my own coaching practice. They provide strategies, questions, and frameworks that help me approach teachers with greater intentionality and continue to develop my skills as a reflective coach. I frequently return to these resources when planning coaching conversations, thinking through a challenge with a teacher, or considering how I can best support a teacher without simply providing the answer.\r\n\r\nYour support has also helped me better understand and embrace the many roles an instructional coach plays. An effective instructional coach is not just someone who helps teachers plan lessons. We are data coaches, resource providers, curriculum specialists, learning facilitators, and catalysts for change. As a data coach, I help teachers use student evidence to understand learning needs and make informed instructional decisions. As a resource provider, I connect teachers with materials, strategies, and tools that can make instruction more engaging and effective. As a curriculum specialist, I support teachers in understanding standards, curriculum, and instructional practices while helping ensure that students are receiving rigorous and meaningful learning experiences. As a learning facilitator, I create opportunities for teachers to reflect, collaborate, problem solve, and build their own capacity. Rather than simply telling teachers what to do, coaching allows teachers to think deeply about their practice and develop solutions that they can carry forward independently. Finally, as a catalyst for change, I help encourage teachers and teams to examine current practices, identify opportunities for growth, and take meaningful steps toward improving outcomes for students.\r\n\r\nI have seen the impact of this work in the conversations happening with teachers, the way we examine student work and data, and the increased focus on using evidence to guide instruction. Your donation made it possible for me to invest in my own professional growth while also providing teachers with practical tools they can use every day. I am incredibly grateful for your belief in this work and for recognizing that supporting educators is one of the most powerful ways we can support students. Thank you for helping me grow as an instructional coach and for investing in the teachers and students whose learning is at the heart of my work. Your generosity is making a difference, not only in what happens in coaching conversations, but in what happens in classrooms.","fullyFundedDate":1779371043689,"projectUrl":"project/empowering-teachers-through-effective-in/10174687/","projectTitle":"Empowering Teachers Through Effective Instructional Coaching","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Weiss","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10472469"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_29135","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":440,"numTeachers":32,"percentFrplEligible":14,"percentAsian":55,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":35,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":3,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":3,"gradesServed":"1 - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"13.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":45.5,"schoolId":29135,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Prairie Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Prairie Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/illinois/kildeer-countryside-ccsd-96/prairie-elementary-school/29135"}
