When the kids walk in hungry or overwhelmed, these snacks give them the quick comfort and physical grounding they need to settle down. It is amazing to see how just having access to decent food helps their brains feel regulated, safe, and ready to focus on their schoolwork.\r\nBeyond being essential \"brain food,\" these snacks have also become awesome tools for positive reinforcement. Middle schoolers can be a tough crowd, but they completely light up and work hard when these favorite treats are on the line as rewards. Whether they are hitting a behavior goal, showing kindness, or pushing through a frustrating assignment, celebrating their wins with a snack they actually love has boosted our classroom energy.
