It's amazing how something as simple as having the right tools can boost motivation and help kids take pride in their work. These supplies have helped create a more organized, focused, and joyful classroom environment.\r\n\r\nThey were so excited! Some of them literally gasped when they saw the boxes being opened. There were so many \"oohs\" and \"wows,\" and several students asked, \"Do we really get to use all of this?\" It meant a lot to them — and to me — to know that people outside our school cared enough to make our classroom feel well-stocked and supported. It gave them a sense of ownership and respect for their space and materials.","fullyFundedDate":1646945939324,"projectUrl":"project/we-need-basic-supplies/6191313/","projectTitle":"We Need Basic Supplies","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Steverson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8316393_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1683905113620","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8316393"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_123140","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":418,"numTeachers":32,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":79,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":18,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"13.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":51.4,"schoolId":123140,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Barack Obama Learning Academy on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Barack Obama Learning Academy","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/illinois/hazel-crest-school-district-152-1-2/barack-obama-learning-academy/123140"}
