With so many new choices, students are exploring all sorts of genres, such as mysteries, realistic fiction, adventure, fantasy, and nonfiction. They are beginning to discover what they enjoy reading, which is such an important step in developing a lifelong love of reading and the stamina in doing so.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom has become a calm, focused, and joyful part of the day. Students spread out with their books, completely immersed in their stories. They recommend books to each other, talk about characters like they are real people, and celebrate finishing a book by immediately searching for the next one.\r\n\r\nYour donation has also given students the freedom to take books beyond the classroom. They can bring their books home, read during recess, and even enjoy them during quiet moments throughout the school day!\r\n\r\nAs fifth graders in their final year of elementary school, this is such an important time for my students. The confidence and independence they are building as readers now will carry with them into middle school and beyond. Because of your generosity, they are not only improving their skills but also beginning to see themselves as capable, lifelong readers.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in my students and for helping create a classroom where every child can find a book that inspires them.
