One of my favorite parts has been seeing how students who usually struggle with reading are now more confident and eager to participate—especially during our group discussions and partner talks.\r\n\r\nThere's one student in particular, a quiet English language learner, who has truly blossomed. It's been amazing to see that spark grow, and it wouldn't have been possible without these books in our hands.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in our classroom and helping us bring literature to life!","fullyFundedDate":1733495581851,"projectUrl":"project/novel-study-for-elementary-students/8933902/","projectTitle":"Novel Study for Elementary Students","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ewing","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9110381_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1766446412289","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9110381"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_96960","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":324,"numTeachers":30,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":86,"percentWhite":2,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":9,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"10.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":68.2,"schoolId":96960,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about James Avant Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"James Avant Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/illinois/east-st-louis-school-district-189/james-avant-elementary-school/96960"}
