Your generosity in donating to my project has helped me make reading more fun for the littlest of readers. Kindergarten is such an important year when learning about phonics, words, and learning to read. Having these chairs has made reading a time my students love. They want to finish work in order to find a book and read. They love our reading chairs and they are starting to build a strong love for reading.\r\n\r\nWhen I first brought the chairs into my classroom the class was so excited! Everyone wanted a turn on the reading chairs and everyone loves them. When we use the reading chairs students are always hoping it is their turn to use them. The class absolutely loves these chairs!\r\n\r\nAs we continue learning to read and start reading more books I will continue using these chairs wherever possible and help make reading a fun experience to look forward to. These reading chairs help my students form a positive memory with reading and it helps them look forward to reading everyday.","fullyFundedDate":1762266304613,"projectUrl":"project/little-readers/9583444/","projectTitle":"Little Readers","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Haugk","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10173135_orig.jpg?crop=2076,2076,x483,y624&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1756943377542","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10173135"},{"teacherId":7530415,"projectId":9541100,"letterContent":"Our class has been busy exploring our new STEM materials—especially the LEGO sets and the sink-and-float tools. One of our favorite moments so far was during a hands-on investigation where students built small LEGO homes. The room was full of excited voices predicting, redesigning, and cheering each other on. It was the perfect mix of creativity and scientific thinking, and the students were completely engaged.\r\nThe moment the boxes were opened, the entire class lit up. Several students gasped when they realized the LEGOs were for building real STEM challenges, not just free play. Others immediately started sharing ideas with their partner. Their excitement was contagious, and many couldn't wait to get their hands on the pieces.\r\nNext, students will be using the sink-and-float materials to make predictions, record data, and revise their designs based on what they learn. They'll explore why certain objects float and how changing materials can change results. After that, they'll apply their learning to a bigger challenge: designing a LEGO structure that can stay afloat while holding additional weight. These resources are helping us build not just STEM skills, but confidence, teamwork, and a love for problem-solving.","fullyFundedDate":1757556003251,"projectUrl":"project/stem-supplies-for-dual-language-students/9541100/","projectTitle":"STEM Supplies for Dual Language Students!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Rodriguez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7530415_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1665237878391","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7530415"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_130415","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":453,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":34,"percentAsian":5,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":54,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":31,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":96.0,"schoolId":130415,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Big Timber Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Big Timber Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/illinois/community-unit-school-district-300/big-timber-elementary-school/130415"}
