The wobble stools have made it so that students have alternate seating options when they come to work with me, have group or have individual time in my office. I see a number of student who are regularly dysregulated for many reasons, sad, anxious, feeling out of control or feeling very hyperactive. These wobble stools give them a chance to regulate their body and help them either blow off steam or help them regulate and calm their sensory systems.\r\n\r\nAt my table are two regular chairs and 2 wobble stools. The students eyes light up and they usually have to negotiate when I am running a group over who gets to sit on them. I also work with a number of students who have Autism and are on the spectrum. They often deal with a lot of sensory needs and these stools have helped them stay more cognitively engaged while they can move their body on the stool during my lessons and times that I am working with them. Some students get moving so much because they are enjoying it they can actually get moving to the point that they fall off! We all enjoy a good laugh.
