Because of your generosity, our new laminator is already making a meaningful difference for more than 120 Pre-K through 8th grade students with moderate to severe disabilities and medical needs. While laminating may seem simple, it has become an essential piece of classroom \"technology\" that allows us to create durable, reusable learning tools our students rely on every single day.\r\n\r\nOur students learn best through repetition and hands-on engagement, and many explore materials by touching, crumpling, or mouthing them. The laminator allows us to create strong, safe supports such as individual visual schedules, first/then boards, token systems, communication tools, and adapted books that can withstand daily use. The most exciting part for our students is that their materials now last; they can focus on learning, communicating, and gaining independence without interruptions from torn or broken resources.\r\n\r\nSeveral of our students have already shown increased confidence and engagement because they can access the same familiar supports day after day. Having consistent materials helps reduce frustration, supports communication, and builds independence across classrooms. Your support has helped us create tools that truly meet our students where they are, and that will continue supporting them for years to come. We are deeply grateful to our 32 donors for investing in stronger materials and, most importantly, stronger learners.","fullyFundedDate":1758811623576,"projectUrl":"project/laminating-love-stronger-materials-for/9652114/","projectTitle":"Laminating Love: Stronger Materials for Stronger Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Monica","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10225090_orig.jpg?crop=480,480,x0,y132&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1756393965816","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10225090"},{"teacherId":6797412,"projectId":9717422,"letterContent":"The recent conference I attended was incredibly valuable, providing a fantastic opportunity to learn from trusted experts. The event significantly enhanced my understanding of the most effective, evidence-based methods for teaching students with disabilities. A key takeaway from the Event-Based Learning webinar was the crucial importance of engaging students with disabilities with actual items in their natural context, rather than relying on photographic representations or \"tabletop learning\" with picture stimuli, which has proven to be an ineffective teaching method. Inspired by this presentation, I developed and delivered an hour-long assembly for all staff members, sharing these vital insights. Many of my colleagues approached me afterward to express their appreciation for the information I provided, affirming the positive impact of the conference.","fullyFundedDate":1758103663086,"projectUrl":"project/learning-in-context-is-key/9717422/","projectTitle":"Learning in Context is Key","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Lake","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6797412_orig.jpg?crop=3024,3024,x0,y70&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1568300195241","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-lake-class"},{"teacherId":4827355,"projectId":9364812,"letterContent":"Thank you sooo much for funding my board book project!! This is a great time for them to move about or read a book before they are going to sit for circle time.
