When the board came in along with the calendar, the students were so excited. I have students who are very into calendars, and they immediately wanted to work with it! Right now, students work with the calendar and stand for their class jobs. They practice changing the whole calendar at the beginning of the month, and each day they move the days of the week and weather—just like they would do if they worked with children ages toddler through 2nd grade.\r\n\r\nDuring our preschool unit, we will use it during instruction as well. Students are going to learn how to run circle time and will practice using the different calendars, including setting them up and asking others questions about them.\r\n\r\nThe stand has also really helped in our custodial class. I hadn't thought of it when I initially created the project, but we needed a way to show our students what shift they were on. With the other side of the calendar board, we are able to put student names and shifts so we can easily say, \"Shift 1, go get your materials,\" and students can look before getting their specific task cards.\r\n\r\nYour donation has benefitted students in both childcare and custodial now, and will continue to do so in years to come!
