I shifted from my typical approach to a 'clustered vocabulary' method, inspired by 'Teaching Basic, Advanced, and Academic Vocabulary.' I observed the student's frustration turn into success when they finally used precise academic terms during class, thanks to strategies tailored to their Tier 3 needs. This change was motivated by the new resources I was exploring. When I introduced these books to the class, students asked about the purpose of the homework. I explained the books would help me become a better teacher for them. They appreciated this, feeling valued because I was dedicating time to enhance my support for their learning styles. Since adopting the differentiated assessments from the 'Differentiating Instruction' guides, students have expressed that they feel 'fairly' challenged instead of overwhelmed.\r\n\r\nThe next steps involve a detailed review of our upcoming unit, where I will use 'Coaching for Equity' to ensure our lessons are inclusive and culturally responsive. At the same time, I am moving my struggling learners into a more intensive Tier 3 support cycle for their writing skills. My goal is to use the transition planning and intervention guides to help my students with disabilities create a 'success portfolio' they can carry into the next grade level, ensuring they have the tools to advocate for their learning needs.","fullyFundedDate":1759156751233,"projectUrl":"project/investing-in-my-skills-bringing-best-pr/9763626/","projectTitle":"Investing in My Skills: Bringing Best Practices to the Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Gutierrez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2982344_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1597786540943","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/lozanoreads"},{"teacherId":2982344,"projectId":9761911,"letterContent":"When I gave them a 'Streak Buck' and told them they earned their first 'Success Streak,' their faces lit up. Later that day, they proudly 'spent' their buck on a treat from our reward bin. It wasn't just about the candy; it was the public recognition of maintaining a positive 'streak' of hard work. When the boxes arrived, and I revealed the snacks and the new 'Streak Bucks' system, the room was excited. For high schoolers, these small rewards significantly boost morale. They immediately asked about the 'exchange rate' and how many days of punctual attendance or completed assignments it would take to earn their favorite treats. There was a buzz that our classroom/school's store finally stocked items they truly enjoy. The next step for my students is applying this 'streak' mindset to our upcoming unit project. We are focusing on positive choices that demand sustained effort over weeks. This project shifts the emphasis from just finishing to maintaining a streak of excellence, teaching them the value of consistency in school and future careers.","fullyFundedDate":1769131272702,"projectUrl":"project/sweet-success-streak-bucks-for-motivati/9761911/","projectTitle":"Sweet Success: Streak Bucks for Motivation","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Gutierrez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2982344_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1597786540943","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/lozanoreads"},{"teacherId":3497014,"projectId":9711327,"letterContent":"We cannot thank you enough for your generous donations!
