These materials have had a direct impact on my students by allowing us to safely participate in more hands-on laboratory investigations throughout the school year. My students have used the goggles & gloves during activities involving chemical reactions, acids & bases, solution chemistry, & other lab-based investigations connected to our chemistry curriculum. Some of these experiments include making rock candy, measuring pH using pH probes and observing pH changes from sour candy, & even acid-base titrations of everyday household cleaning products such as vinegar & Windex. One especially meaningful moment was seeing students confidently participate in laboratory work that felt \"real\" to them because they were using professional safety equipment just like scientists do in actual laboratories.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the new materials, many of them were genuinely excited. Several students commented that the classroom \"felt like a real lab now,\" and they immediately became more engaged and eager to participate in experiments. For many of my students, hands-on science experiences are what make chemistry feel accessible and interesting. Having enough safety equipment for students to actively participate helped create a more collaborative and inclusive learning environment where students felt comfortable asking questions, making observations, and working together during investigations.\r\n\r\nYour support is continuing to impact our classroom as we move into additional chemistry units. These materials will continue to help students safely explore scientific concepts through inquiry and experimentation while building critical thinking and laboratory skills that they will carry with them beyond high school. Thank you again for helping create a safer, more engaging, & more authentic science learning experience for my students.","fullyFundedDate":1769177163535,"projectUrl":"project/community-chemistry-safe-science-practi/9980413/","projectTitle":"Community Chemistry: Safe Science Practices for Local Impact","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Favela","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10395933"},{"teacherId":8117856,"projectId":10066851,"letterContent":"As an educator, sometime we need a bit more help to get the materials needed for an activity or class project.
