However, for a long time, our ability to provide true experiential learning was limited by our resources. We often had to rely on demonstrations at the front of the room or, worse, virtual simulations that—while informative—lack the tactile reality of a real chemical reaction. Your contribution has fundamentally changed that. With the laboratory equipments m you provided, my students have moved from being passive observers to being active researchers.\r\nCurrently, we are using improvised equipments to explore. When a student can calibrate their own scale, measure their own reagents, and observe a color change or a temperature shift in real-time, the \"textbook\" concepts of stoichiometry and chemical bonding suddenly become vivid and real. These are the moments where \"science\" stops being a subject they have to pass and starts being a career they can imagine pursuing.\r\nBeyond the technical skills, your gift has provided something even more valuable: a sense of belonging in the scientific community. When students walk into a lab equipped with professional-grade tools, they feel like \"real\" scientists. It changes the way they carry themselves. It tells them that their education is worth an investment and that their community believes in their potential. For many of my students, especially those who may not have access to STEM resources outside of these walls, this laboratory is a sanctuary of possibility.\r\nYour donation is an investment that will yield returns for years to come. These tools will be used by hundreds of students, each one of them getting the chance to fail, iterate, and ultimately succeed in their experiments. You are helping me build a culture of inquiry and critical thinking that these students will take with them long after they leave my classroom.\r\nThank you for your vision and for your commitment to our school. You haven't just provided equipment; you have provided the spark for a thousand \"aha\" moments. \r\n\r\nRight now. class has been actively using the equipments and it increases their enthusiasm in doing Lab activities and learning science. Your contribution provides our students with hands-on experience necessary for their learning and bridging the gap between textbook theories and real-world application. I am so grateful for your investment in the next generation of scientists.","fullyFundedDate":1769192057708,"projectUrl":"project/lab-equipment-for-young-scientists/10032488/","projectTitle":"Lab Equipment for Young Scientists","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Cerda","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10408478_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1768654678090","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10408478"},{"teacherId":7722433,"projectId":9587947,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your contributions to my classroom! The copy paper has been extremely helpful in printing out extra copies of student homework and providing paper copies of digital work for students who are not able to access the Internet at home. We have used the construction paper for classroom projects, as well as makeshift folders for students who are low on materials. My students would probably say that they particularly appreciate the SEL materials made possible by your donations, specifically the weighted Huskie stuffed animal and the chair bands. The chair bands have been very helpful in allowing student movement while they remain in their seats and are in high demand. The Huskie stuffed animal helps with emotional regulation and lives in our SEL corner. The printer and laminating machine have been game changers, especially as we work to integrate technology in ways that are both engaging and educational. For instance, the printer allows us to create personalized learning materials, like worksheets, interactive reading activities, and even visual aids for complex topics like math and science. These materials are not just printed—they're tailored to meet the specific needs of each student, whether they need additional practice or more advanced challenges.\r\n\r\nThe laminating machine has allowed us to preserve and reuse resources in a way that makes our classroom more efficient and sustainable. The kids love the laminated posters and flashcards; they get to interact with them every day without worrying about wear and tear. The durability of the materials has also made it easier for students to practice independently during centers and small group work.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part for the students is the hands-on, tangible nature of what we create. They are thrilled to see their work transformed into something they can physically hold, whether it's a laminated chart or a colorful worksheet. They feel proud of the materials, and it motivates them to engage even more with the content. One student in particular, who has struggled with reading comprehension, is now able to interact with visual aids and worksheets that help make abstract concepts more concrete. Another student, who is a visual learner, has truly blossomed in this environment, using the laminated posters and charts to better understand and retain lessons.\r\n\r\nOverall, these new tools have enhanced not only their academic experience but also their confidence in learning. The students feel more empowered, and it's clear that the technology and resources you've provided are making their learning journey more dynamic, accessible, and enjoyable. Thank you again to The DonorsChoose Community for making this possible. Your support has truly made a lasting impact on my students' education.","fullyFundedDate":1756061103138,"projectUrl":"project/print-and-laminate/9568860/","projectTitle":"Print and Laminate","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. TeeJay","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/teejayho"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_5760","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":504,"numTeachers":34,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":27,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":70,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"14.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":68.7,"schoolId":5760,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Morrill Math & Science Speciality School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Morrill Math & Science Speciality School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/illinois/chicago-public-school-district-299/morrill-elementary-school/5760"}
