The students were both surprised and excited to receive all of the materials. They were excited to see their plans they drafted and their hard work come to life. Once they completed the original project (Stop Motion Video), they were excited and motivated to create additional projects.\r\n\r\nMy students were proud of their completed projects and were excited to share their learning with parents, students and staff members from our school. Students shared their Stop Motion video, their research, and backgrounds they designed and created for their project during a school event. Additionally, students shared their books with 2nd and 3rd graders. The 4th graders not only learned about science, planning and designing but learned about the writing process. \r\n\r\nThese additional resources had a great impact to our student's learning. It helped motivate and inspire them to work on different project-based learning activities. It also gave them a voice to express their learning using different modalities. Thanks again for the resources. The students really felt valued.","fullyFundedDate":1745846907883,"projectUrl":"project/stop-motion-action-earths-changing-fea/9124328/","projectTitle":"Stop Motion Action: Earth's Changing Features","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Rosado","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2489562"},{"teacherId":3484580,"projectId":8888878,"letterContent":"Your generous donation has led to an after school opportunity for the 8th grade students at Camras. This afterschool program was to create an 8th grade memory book. This memory book was created because the cost of yearbooks is out of reach for many students. Purchasing the materials to create the memory book with your donation has left a lasting memory and imprint in the lives of our students. \r\n\r\nA group of 5 girls and my self met for the first time in November without knowing the outcome of this project, but we all were up for the exciting challenge. Every week we worked on something new, and piece by piece their project began to flourish. With guidance, the girls thoroughly planned, composed emails for teachers and students alike and created surveys for information needed for the books. They had to collaborate as a group to establish and finalize a layout for the book, as well as, create their very own cover. \r\n\r\nThe very first 8th grade memory book at Camras was a sweet success. Your giving has played a major role in the printing and creating. Thank you for taking part in a project with lasting memories and thus a project we hope to continue for the years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1732115057498,"projectUrl":"project/creating-memories-one-page-at-a-time/8888878/","projectTitle":"Creating Memories One Page at a Time","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Gonzalez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3484580_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1534284200841","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3484580"},{"teacherId":3073481,"projectId":8663620,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation, which helped us purchase four Windows laptops for our LEGO Robotics club. These laptops have been incredibly useful during our afterschool LEGO Robotics club, enabling students to conduct research, learn how to code, and program missions for their LEGO Robotics tournament. \r\n\r\nWe have nine students in the club who shared the laptops to research their Innovation Project. They explored ocean zones, learned about various STEM careers related to the ocean, examined challenges faced by research scientists, and ultimately focused on a specific problem they wanted to solve. Using one of the new laptops, they contacted a shark expert and even had a virtual meeting via Google Meet with an ambassador from Sharks4Kids. Thank you for making this possible! \r\n\r\nThe students also used robotics tutorials available on our Google Classroom to learn how to program their LEGO Spike Prime robots. Every team member learned to code the drive motors for straight movement, 90-degree turns, small motors for attachments, and the color sensor. Four of our members were completely new to programming, and they were thrilled to see their robot execute the programs they created! \r\n\r\nFinally, the students applied their coding skills to complete robotics missions. They coded, tested, troubleshot, and refined their programs repeatedly. I was incredibly proud of their perseverance and teamwork. They learned so much and had a great time. \r\n\r\nThank you again for your generous support and for providing my students with the opportunity to explore programming and STEM careers! \r\nš","fullyFundedDate":1725247541329,"projectUrl":"project/code-compete-3-2-1-lego/8663620/","projectTitle":"Code & Compete - 3, 2, 1, LEGO!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Tobias","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3073481_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1502731649199","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3073481"},{"teacherId":575135,"projectId":8514244,"letterContent":"Thank you for your contribution to enriching my students' learning experience. By reading the Scholastic Magazines, students have had the opportunity to learn about numerous current events. The discussions and connections they have made have been truly impactful. For example, students read about people writing letters to Veterans in the Scholastic Magazines and decided to write their own letters to Veterans. Another issue of the Scholastic Magazine had an article about inspiring paralympic athletes. Students read about these athletes and then created their own goals and identified the steps they will take to reach them. \r\nStudents continue to use their imaginations to create various projects using the construction paper and supplies on the supply cart. They have been most excited to create and showcase their own addition and subtraction word problems in math. \r\nAnother favorite project that was possible with the supplies donated was when students created a character from a book we read using the construction paper and materials on the supply cart. \r\nLastly, the books that were donated are eagerly shared amongst students on a daily basis. The animal books are especially coming in handy as students are researching animals of their choice to write an adventure story about their animal.\r\nYour donation has made a great impact in my classroom and for that I am forever grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1725305152860,"projectUrl":"project/the-future-is-something-we-create/8514244/","projectTitle":"The Future is Something We Create","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Nishi","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp575135_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1471287627819","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/575135"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_99059","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":718,"numTeachers":54,"percentFrplEligible":87,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":4,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":91,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"13.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":74.9,"schoolId":99059,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Marvin Camras Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Marvin Camras Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/illinois/chicago-public-school-district-299/marvin-camras-children-s-engineering-elementary-school/99059"}
