I explained that we use them to help dampen the sound in our classroom so that the classroom next store can focus. Speaking of sound, the headphones have been the most impactful part of this donation. The drama classroom is a noisy space. And although this is by design, this organized chaos can be overwhelming to those with sensory triggers. Certain students have now been able to be much more present and joyful in the drama space with a pair of headphones on. \r\n\r\nFinally, our next unit will utilize the stage lights as we will focus on the lighting element in Drama. How mood and atmosphere is importantly in storytelling. My students are making good use of the vocabulary journals. This was an important resource because vocabulary was the skill that all of my students scored low in on their diagnostic tests. My students are required to use the journals each time they read, they then use the journals to write down any words that they are unfamiliar with, they are required to add 10 new words each month. By the end of the school year my students will be able to add over a 100 new words to their basic vocabulary. \r\n\r\nIn addition to the resource for the student your donations for my teaching resources are vital to my planning. Your resources have helped to reduce the stress of time-consuming planning of locating resources that are relevant to my teaching. Your resources allow me to plan rigorous, relevant and engaging lessons that the students are enthusiastic about learning. \r\n\r\nOn behalf of my students and myself I would like to say thank you once again for always supporting my students and your conscientious efforts to support students, teachers and learning.","fullyFundedDate":1753313646752,"projectUrl":"project/will-this-work-in-middle-school-ms-moor/9398718/","projectTitle":"Will This Work in Middle School Ms. Moore?","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Moore","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp47210_orig.jpg?crop=716,716,x281,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1749215376724","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/patches"},{"teacherId":47210,"projectId":9398075,"letterContent":"I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for donating to my class. This is now my second year as a special education teacher. Already your donations are helping me to give my students the lessons and instruction that they need to be successful readers. With your donations, at the start of this year I was able to give reading fluency assessments, test for comprehension and provide decodable easy readers for reluctant readers. This year because of your donations I am able to understand my students' academic deficits and address them in a more timely manner because your resources made that possible. \r\nLast year I was not impressed with the academic gains from my students. Their growth was minimal. This year I expect their growth to be more substantial due to the fact that I have better resources. This year the resources have allowed me to utilize my schedule better; instead of the students having to take out paper for their vocabulary I am able to provide vocabulary journals, they are placed on the desk when the students arrive. Instead of going to the library to find grade level text. I have them in my library now they can choose a book. \r\nIn closing I would like to say thank you once more for caring enough about the students that I teach. Thank you for caring about me and the time and effort I put into planning lessons each day. Thank you for caring enough to donate and in turn helping the students learn, giving me back some of my personal time and overall making the classroom environment a more productive and engaging place to learn.","fullyFundedDate":1750987933169,"projectUrl":"project/from-kindergarten-to-middle-school/9398075/","projectTitle":"From Kindergarten to Middle School","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Moore","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp47210_orig.jpg?crop=716,716,x281,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1749215376724","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/patches"},{"teacherId":5442486,"projectId":8622633,"letterContent":"We've been putting the new resources to great use! We have utilized the tablets for word dictation and spelling. The students really enjoyed using their tablets for writing and learning! \r\n\r\nTheir faces lit up! There were actual gasps and cheers. Several students asked, \"Is this really for us?\" and couldn't wait to dive in. For many of them, this was the first time using materials like this in a classroom setting, and they were really engaged.\r\n\r\nNext, we're expanding our unit by designing small-group investigations where students choose a topic to explore and research using the classroom materials. They'll research the topic, writing down their discoveries and present their findings to the class. The goal is to encourage inquiry-based learning and communication skills. These resources are helping them take ownership of their learning in a way that wasn't possible before.","fullyFundedDate":1723489667640,"projectUrl":"project/love-of-learning-in-the-rainbow-lites-cl/8622633/","projectTitle":"Love of Learning in the Rainbow Lites Classroom!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Norwood","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5442486_orig.jpg?crop=273,273,x0,y346&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1723444364390","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5442486"},{"teacherId":4739573,"projectId":9101131,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for giving our scholars the opportunity to check-in and freshen up on their hygiene and their daily routines. Students took turns being veterinarians, pet owners, and receptionists, practicing language skills, cooperation, and empathy as they diagnosed stuffed animals, bandaged paws, and filled out patient forms. It was incredible to see how engaged they were—every child had a role and a purpose.\r\n\r\nI'm so excited for my current class to experience the veterinarian dramatic play area when we begin our pet study.
