Your generosity has transformed our room into a warm, inviting, and functional space where students truly love to learn. What you provided has done far more than upgrade our furniture it has elevated our entire learning environment.\r\n\r\nThe new shelves, comfortable seating, and workspaces have created a place where students feel calm, focused, and excited to engage with books. Many of my students are emergent bilinguals who benefit from spaces that feel safe, structured, and welcoming. The cozy seating allows them to settle into reading with confidence, while the organized shelves help them independently explore texts that reflect their cultures, identities, and interests. The furniture supports not only literacy development but also a sense of pride and belonging.\r\n\r\nEvery day, students rush to the library area with enthusiasm. They love choosing their reading spots, recommending books to one another, and using the furniture to support independent or partner reading. The space has become a hub for curiosity, imagination, and joyful learning. I have already seen reluctant readers become more motivated simply because they now have a comfortable and inviting place to read.\r\n\r\nYour contribution has also taught students that people in the community believe in their potential. They helped organize the new library, label book bins, and take ownership of their space. This sense of responsibility and pride is something they will carry with them throughout the school year.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in our students and creating a beautiful reading environment that will support many classes for years to come. Your generosity is making a lasting impact, and we are truly grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1758814131248,"projectUrl":"project/library-area/9416794/","projectTitle":"Library Area","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Wilcox","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8393762_orig.jpg?crop=810,810,x0,y135&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1750097474701","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8393762"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_5656","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":211,"numTeachers":13,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":92,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":5,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"16.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":54.5,"schoolId":5656,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Madison Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Madison Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/illinois/chicago-public-school-district-299/madison-elementary-school/5656"}
