These snacks have already become an important part of our classroom routine. Many of my students spend long days working hard in both their general education classes and in small-group instruction with me. Having a snack available gives them a chance to recharge before tackling reading, math, progress monitoring, or other challenging academic tasks. Sometimes something as simple as having a granola bar or snack before we begin makes it much easier for a student to settle in, focus, and feel ready to learn.\r\n\r\nMy students were incredibly excited when they saw that our classroom had been stocked with snacks just for them. They immediately wanted to know what we had and were thrilled to have choices! More importantly, they know that when they come into my room, there is something available if they are hungry. It has helped make our classroom feel even more welcoming and supportive, and it removes one small barrier that can make learning harder for a child.\r\n\r\nAs we continue through the school year, my students will be working toward their individual reading and math goals through targeted small-group instruction and regular progress monitoring. Your donation helps me create an environment where students can focus on that growth without hunger becoming a distraction. Thank you for giving my students something practical, comforting, and genuinely useful. As we unpacked everything together, they kept asking, \"Are these for us?\" and you could see how much it meant to them. For many of my scholars, having consistent access to snacks at school isn't always guaranteed, so this created a sense of comfort and care right away.\r\n\r\nWe've been using the snacks strategically throughout the day, especially during longer academic blocks and independent work time. I've noticed a clear difference in focus, stamina, and overall mood. Students are more regulated, more willing to engage in challenging tasks, and able to stay on task for longer periods of time. One moment that stood out was a student who often struggles to concentrate—after having a snack, he was able to settle in and complete his work with much more independence and persistence.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, these snacks will continue to support our daily routines and help create a stable, supportive learning environment. When students' basic needs are met, they are better able to learn, participate, and feel confident in the classroom. Your generosity has truly helped remove a barrier to learning and has made a meaningful difference in my students' ability to show up ready to learn each day.","fullyFundedDate":1742823895597,"projectUrl":"project/snacks-for-special-education-scholars/9129672/","projectTitle":"Snacks for Special Education Scholars!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. K.","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp599431_orig.png?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1784655802713","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-kranikoglou"},{"teacherId":9203736,"projectId":9629148,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support and kindness.
