The materials have made a meaningful impact on our special education classroom and have helped create a calmer, safer, and more supportive learning environment for my students. Many of my students benefit from sensory regulation supports throughout the school day, and these tools have helped them stay focused, reduce stress, and participate more successfully during lessons and transitions.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the sensory materials, they were excited and curious to explore them. Several students immediately gravitated toward the fidgets, sensory seating, and calming tools during independent work and group activities. We noticed that students who typically struggle with attention, overstimulation, or emotional regulation were able to stay engaged longer and participate more comfortably in classroom routines. One special moment was seeing students independently choose sensory supports when they needed a break, showing growth in self-regulation and communication skills.\r\n\r\nThese sensory resources are now part of our daily classroom routine and continue to support students during academic instruction, life skills activities, transitions, and social interactions. Moving forward, we plan to continue teaching students how to appropriately use sensory tools to build independence, emotional regulation, and coping skills that can help them both inside and outside the classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1777925615363,"projectUrl":"project/calm-minds-ready-to-learn/10215363/","projectTitle":"Calm Minds, Ready to Learn","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. G","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10231756_orig.jpg?crop=1080,1080,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1756859546433","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10231756"},{"teacherId":10231756,"projectId":10056524,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our \"Mini Indoor Plants for Big Growth\" project. Because of you, my students now have access to organized, colorful, and easily reachable materials that truly support their learning and independence. The rotating supply organizer allows students to clearly see and choose the tools they need, such as pencils, glue, markers, and crayons, which encourages decision-making and fine motor practice. Many of my students benefit from visual structure, and having materials neatly arranged has reduced frustration and increased engagement during lessons and independent work time.\r\n\r\n\r\nThe rolling storage cart has also made a meaningful difference in our daily routines. I use it to organize instructional materials, visual supports, and hands-on activities, allowing me to quickly bring lessons to different areas of the classroom. Students are excited to participate when materials are presented in an organized and accessible way, and several students are now able to help retrieve or return items, building responsibility, life skills, and confidence.\r\n\r\nBecause of your kindness, our classroom environment is calmer, more structured, and more supportive of students with diverse learning needs. These resources will continue to help my students grow academically, socially, and functionally every day. Thanks to your support, we have created a warm and inviting conversation corner that has truly transformed our learning environment.\r\n\r\nThe impact of this cozy space has been remarkable. My students now eagerly gather in the corner for small-group conversations, practicing their French with newfound confidence and enthusiasm. The comfortable seating has created an atmosphere where students feel relaxed enough to take risks with their language skills, making mistakes and learning from them without hesitation. I've noticed quieter students becoming more willing to participate, and the entire class has embraced this space as their own special place to explore the French language and culture.\r\n\r\nBeyond language practice, this corner has become a cherished spot where students in my homeroom gather to relax, decompress and talk about their day.\r\n\r\nYour kindness has given my students more than just furniture; you've given them a space where learning feels natural, comfortable, and joyful.
