The first batch did not hatch as we did not incubate them in a timely manner. The second batch, has now hatched, and so far we have 2 babies. Many students from around the school come and visit the chickens. they have been named Chiquita and Bloom. We are hoping the other fertilized eggs will hatch as well. I will continue to keep hatching chickens every year. Students are learning about the life cycle as well as organs and chicken development.\r\n Students are able to hold the chicks and guess if they are male or female. They think that the chicks are female, however after a few days of observation and the chicks demeanor and wing span, they now think that one is male. The engineers have built the coop and placed it in the schools courtyard. After 5 or 6 weeks they will be placed in the courtyard with the coop. In our courtyard we have geese that are there with their babies that have hatched and this year we have a Robin's nest with her babies as well. The chicks will fit in perfectly.\r\n In closing, I want to thank you for helping us with making the chicken hatching experience possible. Without your help we would not have a home for our school baby chickens.","fullyFundedDate":1747952342167,"projectUrl":"project/chickens-are-everywhere/9257798/","projectTitle":"Chickens Are Everywhere!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Davis","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5462821_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1657584458463","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-davis2018"},{"teacherId":10190085,"projectId":9625184,"letterContent":"All of our supplies were or are still in the process of being used; all the while are contributing towards bettering students learning experiences! In the second senester, Student will be utilizing them with much more frequency to store porject items. It will be nice to assign lockers to groups with a shared locked that anyone in the group can access. This way if a student misses class, the whole group will have access to the material.\r\n The students honestly don't use their school lockers so the classroom lockers were not a real point of excitement.
