I was literally worried about having enough supplies to finish the school year and I received the notice that my project was funded. It bought tears to my eyes to know that someone cared enough about me and students to give us what we needed even though they did not know us. When my students first saw the materials, they were so excited! They helped me open the boxes and was screaming with joy with each item that we took out. They were especially excited about the construction paper and glue sticks because we had ran out a week prior and they were not able to create as they wanted. They asked me where did the items come from and I told them about you! They wanted me to personally thank you and tell you that they LOVED the treats! Because of your donations, my students have been able to create and I have been able to properly clean and sanitize the classroom. I even have enough supplies for next school year which alleviated some of my anxiety about next year. \r\n\r\nAgain, your gesture of kindness touched my heart and I pray that you are abundantly blessed because of it.","fullyFundedDate":1743124723415,"projectUrl":"project/supplies-for-a-successful-school-year/9162488/","projectTitle":"Supplies for A Successful School Year","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Lampton","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9922254"},{"teacherId":9820300,"projectId":8982968,"letterContent":"With your help, I have been able to obtain the materials I needed for effective social and emotional learning in my student sessions this school year. \r\n\r\nPictionary and Making Good Choices match-ups have been a hit with my students. These games have helped to pique their interest in our sessions. The importance of play is invaluable, as they are having so much fun they might not even recognize that we are doing work around social and emotional development. \r\n\r\nI have used the snack box, stickers, mochi squishies, and playdoh for incentives that students get as a reward for using good listening and participation skills in sessions with me. These prizes have been crucial as an extra motivation boost and are a meaningful symbol of recognition for working so hard.\r\n\r\nOther materials such as printer paper, tape, post-its, file folders, and Velcro stickers are the backbone of my ability to organize and produce the content that I use. Though simple, these materials add up, and having your support in being able to provide them in the office has made a huge difference. \r\n\r\nI cannot thank you enough for your generous contribution. It has truly helped me and my students immeasurably this school year. With these materials, I have been able to develop interventions and systems that I will continue to use for years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1739282339859,"projectUrl":"project/social-work-materials/8982968/","projectTitle":"Social Work Materials","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Buenneke","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9820300"},{"teacherId":9852201,"projectId":8982748,"letterContent":"Your donated headphones have significantly improved focus in the classroom by creating a quieter and more controlled learning environment. Many students struggle with distractions from ambient noise, such as chatter, classroom activities, or external sounds. By providing headphones, teachers can help students block out these distractions and maintain concentration on their tasks. This is especially beneficial in classrooms with a high student-to-teacher ratio, where maintaining an individualized focus can be challenging. Students can listen to audio materials, follow along with lessons, or engage in personalized learning without the interference of disruptive sounds around them.\r\n\r\nAdditionally, headphones can be instrumental in supporting students with special learning needs, such as those with ADHD or sensory processing issues. For these students, the ability to focus is often compromised by external stimuli, and headphones help create a sensory buffer that makes it easier for them to engage with the lesson. Donated headphones, therefore, not only enhance the learning experience for all students but also provide valuable accommodations for those who may need extra support in staying focused. This simple resource fosters an environment where students can thrive academically and improve their overall performance.","fullyFundedDate":1733455728979,"projectUrl":"project/mr-boligors-blooming-readers/8982748/","projectTitle":"Mr. Boligor's Blooming Readers","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Boligor","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9852201_orig.jpg?crop=1622,1622,x463,y131&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1733170251301","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9852201"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_5808","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":662,"numTeachers":26,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":96,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":3,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"25.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":47.5,"schoolId":5808,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about John Foster Dulles Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"John Foster Dulles Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/illinois/chicago-public-school-district-299/dulles-school-of-excellence/5808"}
