The iPad has quickly become a valuable part of our learning environment. We use it to support instruction and classroom activities, and it has also made it easier for me to capture learning moments and communicate them with families through ClassDojo. Families are able to stay connected to what their children are learning and celebrating at school.\r\n\r\nOne of the most exciting impacts has been seeing my students use the iPad themselves! My students are naturally eager to learn with technology, so we have incorporated the iPad into classroom jobs and responsibilities. Students get opportunities to take the lead, complete classroom tasks, and help our classroom run smoothly. They are always excited when it is their turn! What may seem like a small job gives them a chance to practice independence, responsibility, and confidence while learning how to use technology appropriately.\r\n\r\nYour generosity gave us much more than a new device. You gave my students another tool for learning, an opportunity to become classroom leaders, and a way to strengthen the connection between our classroom and our families. No more heavy crates!\r\n\r\nNow that the fleet (as I loving call it) is complete, I'm working on rearranging other materials to improve storage. We don't need our old crate storage anymore, so our teacher instructional kits and move to more accessible place. \r\n\r\nThis is my third year here, and it's been a slow but steady process of transforming the library to best meet the needs of our school community. Through a structured French listening center, students engage with audio resources such as songs, conversations, and guided activities that build pronunciation, comprehension, and vocabulary. The integration of ClassDojo on the iPod reinforces strong classroom management by promoting positive behavior, increasing engagement, and supporting student accountability during independent and small-group work.\r\n\r\nThe Pocketalk enhances instruction by delivering immediate translation and accurate pronunciation, allowing students to actively practice and build confidence in speaking French. It supports differentiated learning by ensuring all students, regardless of proficiency level, access content and participate meaningfully. Together, the iPod and Pocketalk create an interactive and supportive learning environment that strengthens communication skills and accelerates student progress in French.","fullyFundedDate":1766973950965,"projectUrl":"project/tech-en-deux-langues-ipad-for-dual-lang/9749270/","projectTitle":"Tech en Deux Langues: iPad for Dual Language Success","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Lungela","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10273644"},{"teacherId":5444534,"projectId":9092130,"letterContent":"When I first made this project, I didn't realize how lasting of an impact it would have. I just knew that I put my students and their creativity at the forefront. Since funding this project, my students were not only able to learn more about HBCUs, but they also conducted research and partnered with a classmate to study an HBCU that I felt matched their interests. I was able to take this project even taken further, through a grant I received that allowed each child to receive their very own shirt from the HBCU and the college flag. During this period of Black History Month, they were also able to showcase this information at our school and on our school districts NAAPID Family Day. Parents were able to come in and listen to these wonderful presentations about their HBCU and as they watched and listened, faces lit up. My students families were very proud and amazed at how engaged and excited they were about this project. I even had a parent tell me, \"Thank you for introducing Morehouse to my son, he now knows what college he wants to go to when he grows up.\" Statements like this motivate me to continue the work I do and none of this would be possible without Donor's Choose. Again, I appreciate your thoughtful donation, this experience will stay with my students forever.","fullyFundedDate":1739997392761,"projectUrl":"project/creating-my-story-hbcu/9092130/","projectTitle":"Creating My Story: HBCU","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Mallett","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5444534"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_29913","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":451,"numTeachers":43,"percentFrplEligible":84,"percentAsian":4,"percentBlack":68,"percentWhite":8,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":15,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":3,"gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"10.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":71.8,"schoolId":29913,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Stratton Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Stratton Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/illinois/champaign-unit-4-school-district/stratton-elementary-school/29913"}
