My students and I use it every single day, during morning meetings, read-alouds, partner work, and even quiet moments when a student just needs a warm, soft spot to settle. One of my favorite moments was the first day we unrolled it: my entire class gasped, and several of them immediately lay down on it, smiling and saying things like, \"It feels like home in here!\" The rug has truly transformed our room into a cozy, inviting place where students feel safe and excited to learn.\r\n\r\nSince we received it, the rug has become a central gathering spot. During lessons, each child finds a warm space on the rug instead of the cold floor, which helps them stay focused and comfortable. It has also made our movie days and read-alouds extra special, the kids love stretching out and relaxing while still staying engaged. Something so simple has made such a big difference in our daily routines and in building a stronger classroom community.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward in our current units, the rug will continue to be used for whole-group discussions, small group activities, and collaborative projects. It's already helping improve student engagement and participation because they truly enjoy being in that space together. Thank you again for investing in my classroom and helping create a warm, welcoming environment for my students. Your kindness has made an impact that will last all year long.","fullyFundedDate":1761710437670,"projectUrl":"project/cozy-rug/9851886/","projectTitle":"Cozy Rug","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Goosherst","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9610363_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1761136349747","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9610363"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_29471","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":306,"numTeachers":28,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":42,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":46,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"10.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":85.2,"schoolId":29471,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Rosa G Maddock Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Rosa G Maddock Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/illinois/burbank-school-district-111/rosa-g-maddock-elementary-school/29471"}
