We serve students with autism who each have unique ways of learning and communicating, and these devices have helped us better meet their individual needs.\r\n\r\nBy incorporating the iPads into daily learning activities, we have seen a noticeable increase in student engagement. The addition of technology has made lessons more interactive and motivating, especially for students who prefer using a device over traditional paper-based tasks. This has allowed us to better implement our required curriculum in ways that are accessible and meaningful for all learners.\r\n\r\nThe cases and straps have also been incredibly helpful, keeping the devices protected and easy to carry throughout the day, ensuring they are readily available whenever learning opportunities arise.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we are excited to expand how we use these iPads by exploring writing applications to support our pre-writing students. These tools will help us continue to build foundational skills in a way that is engaging and developmentally appropriate.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping us create a more inclusive, engaging, and supportive learning environment for our students.","fullyFundedDate":1766739116928,"projectUrl":"project/technology-to-empower-learners-in-our-au/9951401/","projectTitle":"Technology to Empower Learners in Our Autism Program!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Greten","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10354137"},{"teacherId":10354137,"projectId":9787531,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generous support, our classroom received three iPads that are already making a meaningful difference for our students. We serve students with autism who are nonverbal and rely on AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) devices to express themselves. For many of our learners, communication is still an emerging skill, and consistent modeling by staff is essential to their growth.\r\n\r\nWith these new iPads, our staff can actively model communication throughout the school day—during lessons, transitions, and everyday interactions. This helps students see how their devices can be used in natural, real-life situations, strengthening their understanding and confidence.\r\n\r\nThe protective cases and straps have been an incredible addition. They keep the devices safe in the hands of our active learners and allow staff to carry them easily from place to place, ensuring communication support is always within reach.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, our students have greater access to the tools and models they need to build their communication skills. These iPads will continue to benefit our classroom for years to come as we empower our students to find their voices.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping us make communication possible.","fullyFundedDate":1763054732351,"projectUrl":"project/ipads-for-communication-learning-and-g/9787531/","projectTitle":"iPads for Communication, Learning, and Growth in Our Autism Program","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Greten","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10354137"},{"teacherId":9785273,"projectId":9348866,"letterContent":"Thank you for your generous donations to support this project.\r\n\r\nIn the past, it was commonly believed that students needed to meet certain prerequisites before accessing books or beginning to read—we now know that all students can benefit from early and consistent exposure to literacy experiences. Our program has been blown away by the progress we've seen since implementing a new curriculum based on the Comprehensive Literacy for All framework and research.\r\n\r\nWe have seen our students thrive as they are introduced to academic routines such as shared reading, predictable chart writing, and independent reading and writing. Having easy access to age-appropriate books is crucial for continued exploration and exposure to text and print concepts. Your donation to this project supported the creation of a rolling library, which has been an incredible addition to our program.\r\n\r\nMany of our students' favorite books are from the Cat Kid and Dog Man series.
