This novel has opened the door to rich discussions about resilience, empathy, and what it means to build a community. As we read about Roz, a robot learning to survive in the wild, students are practicing essential literacy skills like identifying themes, analyzing character development and making predictions. These are foundational skills that strengthen their ability to read confidently and critically.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom has transformed into a shared journey. With a book in each student's hands, lessons feel more collaborative and interactive. Students turn to specific pages during discussions, engage in partner reads and are actively engaged in whole group discussions. The room is always filled with energy, students sketching scenes from the novel and writing thoughtful reflections about friendship, courage, and growth.\r\n\r\nSome students who previously struggled to stay engaged during reading time are now among the most enthusiastic participants. One student who rarely spoke in class proudly shared how he connected with Roz's determination, while another student has been reading ahead each night and excitedly summarizing the upcoming chapters for her classmates. These moments have shown just how powerful access to the right texts can be.\r\n\r\nYour donation has made a meaningful difference. Thank you for investing in my students' imaginations, confidence, and future success.","fullyFundedDate":1757895766794,"projectUrl":"project/el-robot-salvaje-class-set/9712567/","projectTitle":"El Robot Salvaje Class Set","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Munoz","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8491927_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1757773120838","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8491927"},{"teacherId":3144201,"projectId":9683978,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for helping to make students excited about science. Our new intensive intervention classes were especially grateful as these are now being used as calm down tools for students when needed. \r\n\r\nWe even have enough supplies left over to make more slime in the near future.
