This initiative was designed to build essential background knowledge in American history, science, and geography through immersive, experiential learning.\r\n\r\nSince implementation, the VR technology has significantly enhanced instruction for our ML students. Many of our learners were born outside the United States and are developing academic understanding while simultaneously acquiring English. The virtual experiences have provided meaningful context for classroom lessons—allowing students to explore historical landmarks, observe scientific phenomena, and visualize concepts that previously felt abstract or unfamiliar.\r\n\r\nThe teacher has reported increased student engagement and students are more confident participating in discussions, making connections to texts, and demonstrating understanding in both oral and written responses. The visual and interactive nature of VR has been especially impactful for students who benefit from language supports.\r\n\r\nBeyond academic gains, this project has promoted equity by providing access to experiences that many students would not otherwise have due to financial and geographic barriers. Virtual reality has allowed us to bring the world into our classrooms—creating inclusive learning opportunities that honor the diverse backgrounds of our students while supporting their success.\r\n\r\nThis project has made a meaningful and lasting difference in our school community. We have already used the paddles and balls for a class favorite game we call \"Clean out Your Backyard\" where they hit as many balls as they can to the other teams side of the gym. Our kids and staff love to dance to the music, creating a fun and collaborative environment for everyone. \r\nAnother use for our new speaker is during our state testing time. Our school does a lot to create excitement around our testing season. One thing we do is have our students walk the halls on their assigned testing days. The rest of the school lines the halls and we play \"walk up\" music as our testing grade walks the halls to give high fives and cheer each other on as they prepare to go take their test. These new foam pins don't hurt when it hits someone legs. We play lots of games where students are \"guarding\" pins and ensuring that we can safely play these games are important. Bowling is one of our kids' favorite activities and one that is accessible to them outside of PE class. Bowling is a way for kids to be active with family and friends that is fun, healthy, and creates memories. \r\n\r\nWhen I teach bowling, I like to set my gym up like an actual bowling alley complete with lanes. We use weighted rubber balls and full-sized pins to make it as realistic as I can with what we have. The problem has always been when the balls hit the wall, they mark it up and the pins scatter into other bowlers' \"lanes\" and knocks their pins down. With your help we were able to get backstops to contain the balls and pins. It is so nice to be able to protect our walls and to contain each bowlers pins to their lanes. Hula hoops are a piece of equipment I use almost every day. Beyond the standard hula hooping we all grew up with there are many ways to use them. Storing and transporting hoops are challenging because of their size and the number of hoops we use. I frequently take the outside for PE and having storage bags makes is so much easier to get them from place to place.
