The students form their teams of four or five, then spend the first semester reading the books, and then spend the second semester continuing to read/study the books and having battles to answer questions. My students made a variety of little stuffed animals and mini monsters. The students also created stories to go with the stuffed animals that we then donated to the children at Ronald McDonald house.\r\n When students are creating something to give to someone else, they work with purpose and caring. Since we received thank you notes from Ronald McDonald house, the students are learning the impact they have on others as well as their community as a whole.\r\n These projects would not be possible without the donations that you have made to our classroom.
