The students were so excited just to see the boxes come in. We unboxed the rockets and engines to give them a preview and build anticipation for learning about lift, draft, drag, and thrust. When I told them that they each got to build their own rocket, they were ecstatic!\r\n\r\nWhen it came time for our unit, students eagerly participated in learning about the principles of rocketry. After the learning was complete, it was time for the hands-on building. We had volunteers come in to help students assemble their rockets just right so they would be able to launch them. \r\n\r\nLaunch day was filled with wonder, cheers, and enthusiasm! It was a beautiful, wind-free day. We lined up all the 5th graders and counted down each launch.
