Then when I showed them the snack tub they all started cheering. \r\nI love the fact that they can feel comfortable asking for a snack if they know that they need a little something to help them get through the day. It creates a supportive classroom environment where students know their well-being is a priority. You have created opportunities for students they might not anywhere else. I currently teach a split classroom with first and second graders at a neighborhood school. The past few years we have received so many budget cuts, getting new supplies is something that is now, unfortunately virtually unheard of. The day I opened the boxes of manipualtives, STEM stations, in front of my students, you should have heard their excitement.
