These students have a difficult time finding funding to purchase any supplies, yet, using a sketchbook regularly is helping me to educate them and fulfill the National and State Content Standards. \r\n\r\nToday we went over the 2 types of texture and have illustrated the Elements of Art. Each day I get the opportunity to educate them on the Fundamentals of Art and help turn them into artists, or at least into people who have an appreciation for the Arts. \r\n\r\nMy students were really looking forward to having the paint pens and using them! After each student personalized their sketchbooks, they take elaborate notes daily. The students will be allowed to use their sketchbooks for the final exam in a few months. This will also be a keepsake and a reference in the future. Students have already begun using the new resources today, and were so excited to see all the new materials! They especially like the turn in bins, folders, and magnets for student work to be displayed on the whiteboard. Before your donations, my students did not have the materials needed to learn in the classroom, especially because a majority of them come from low income families. As a result of your donation, students now have the tools they need to learn!\r\n\r\nNow that my students have the necessary resources to succeed, they have begun using them daily in the classroom. They keep their classwork in their folders, which stay in the classroom so they don't get lost. Students are able to use the clipboards purchased to complete work anywhere, allowing them more unconventional seating options. Using the classroom resources you provided, a majority of my students scored proficient or higher on their unit 2 quiz! Hip-hip hooray! Finally, the classroom prizes have been a huge hit! The students love competing for a prize, or being rewarded for their efforts during class time. \r\n\r\nWe cannot express how thankful we are for your support and help.
