Students 6-12 in our band will have access to good quality reeds. We live in a very small rural town and our closest music store is close to 2 hours away. Before, students would have to plan ahead, or go without reeds and therefore go without playing until they could get them or beg me to give them a reed taking away from my limited classroom supply. \r\n\r\nThe students were very excited to see the amount and variety of reeds we have available this year. This gave me the chance to have the different strengths of reeds. I have not always been able to do this because of tight classroom funds. The higher the number reeds, the harder the strength for the more advanced player, versus the lower number or the softer reed for beginners. \r\n\r\nOverall, this is a great opportunity for students to have the correct supplies they need to play their instrument well in the music classroom and for performances, probably for years to come.
