Students are using the candle- and soap-making supplies every step of the way, from measuring ingredients to pouring, labeling, and packaging their finished products. One of the most meaningful moments was seeing students who often hesitate with academic tasks become completely focused and proud as they held up something they created themselves. These hands-on activities helped reinforce math, reading, and life skills in a way that felt natural and fun rather than forced.\r\n\r\nWhen the boxes arrived, the excitement was immediate. Students couldn't wait to open them, touch the materials, and talk about what we could make. There were smiles, questions, and lots of \"Can I do this part?\" moments. For many students, having real tools and real materials made the learning feel important. They quickly began taking ownership—counting supplies, talking about prices, and making decisions together—which helped build confidence and independence.\r\n\r\nNext, we are turning this project into a small classroom business. Students will practice budgeting, setting prices, and thinking about profit while working as a team. More importantly, they are learning that their work has value and that they are capable of meaningful, real-world tasks.
