Students share the desk with a student from another class. For example, their pouches store their library books, binder, and journals. Before these pouches, papers were often crumpled at the bottom of desks and school materials got lost or used on accident by another student; now, every student has a mobile, protected pouch they can easily move and clearly houses their materials.\r\n\r\nThere was a huge sigh of relief from the class! Many of my students struggle with 'messy desk syndrome,' and seeing a sleek, simple solution made them feel much more in control. They loved the tactile feel of the pouches and the easy snap closure.\r\n\r\nOur next step is our 'End-of-Unit Portfolio' review. Students will be using the materials they've safely collected in their file pouches to curate their best work for a student-led conference. Because the pouches kept their artifacts in pristine condition, the students are now prepared to reflect on their growth over the last month and present their findings to their peers.
