This flexibility in seating formats has been instrumental in helping students discover new ways to learn and engage with their work.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the chairs and cushions, their reactions were priceless. They were absolutely amazed and immediately drawn to how comfortable they were. I also work with other intervention teachers, all with the same goal of promoting literacy in our students, and so the materials will be available for students in Kindergarten to grade 6. While the Building Thinking Classrooms (BTC) approach is most commonly applied in math education, it can surely be adapted to teaching reading! \r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the boards set up, they were so excited and anxious to begin. Usually, I teach them in small-groups of four students, but for the BTC lessons, I teach several groups of 3 at the same time. Another difference is the random groupings, which encourage the students to rely on their peers and reasoning rather than seeking my guidance. \r\n\r\nI will continue to create lessons to incorporate the BTC approach to build upon my students' skills and continuous learning so that they can experience the joys of literacy.","fullyFundedDate":1729199396564,"projectUrl":"project/rti-building-thinking-classroom-style/8880847/","projectTitle":"RTI Building Thinking Classroom Style","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Wakahiro","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7941455"},{"teacherId":2907221,"projectId":8881376,"letterContent":"This project has allowed me to differentiate my teaching and give students options to review or preview lessons to come.
