There were mornings where we needed them to lock in and we didn't want hunger to be an issue. They made good use of the cereal bars and other snacks that were donated to ensure they were ready for their day and able to be present for learning. They enjoyed the cereal bars, cookies, and chips.\r\n\r\nWe used the whiteboards for small group instruction and for posting up small group tasks to foster student independence.\r\n\r\nWe have been doing art with regular copy paper and when you paint on regular paper, it tends to curl. When we began using the water color paper, it allowed them to create painted pictures that didn't curl up when it dried. We were able to turn their art work into cards that they were able to take home and use to give out to other people. We even did a Mother's Day card for their moms.\r\n\r\nWe will be printing their 4th quarter informational narratives as they created a short picture book about a historical event from a biography we are studying. We will be able to print their picture books in color for them and keep a copy for our class library. We will also be making another card for Father's Day.
