You are an important part of our students lives!\r\n\r\nPlease consider my next project to \"Bring the Human Body to Life.\" After purchasing some modeling clay with my own money, I realized how amazing and meaningful it was for the students to build body systems with their own hands, constructing tracheas and lungs from clay, learning each body part intimately by constructing it with their own hands. As a first year teacher at Waimea High School on the island of Kaua'i, a Title I school serving the communities on the Westside of the island. Due to our Title I status, we are only allotted a small amount of basic classroom supplies for students and teachers, mostly white board markers and printer paper. Any additional supplies are the responsibility of the teacher to obtain, and I am so grateful to you for helping me fill my classroom with supplies for my students and myself to use throughout the year!\r\n\r\nYour classroom supplies have enabled me to create personalized cell phone cases out of pencil cases to adhere to our \"No Cell Phone\" classroom policy that demonstrate my respect for their property, small snacks to use for activity prizes, facial tissues for stuffy noses, Clorox wipes and paper towels for activity clean up, colored pencils to create colorful anatomy models, and additional white board markers when the ink runs low so students can see the words vibrant on the board. I have started to laminate instructional sheets or activity sheets that can be reused for multiple classes and multiple years to preserve them, such as the \"Bestill my Heart\" Anatomy board game I created for my students! Also, having extra printer paper allows me to create copies of study sheets and fun activities to share with all students! Students are always so appreciative that I have so many thoughtful supplies, not only for instructional activities, but for those moments in between when they need a snack or blow their nose or want to wipe their desk.\r\n\r\nMy classroom would not be the welcoming, comfortable environment without your generous donations. Having students feel welcome and comfortable in the classroom makes them comfortable hanging out in my classroom and makes me an approachable teacher.
