Your contributions have allowed us to acquire a diverse collection of new texts, opening up exciting opportunities to enhance our literacy program.\r\n Reading in our classroom is a vibrant and interactive experience. It's not just about decoding words; it's about making meaning and engaging with the text on multiple levels. We employ a variety of approaches, including shared reading, where we read aloud together and discuss the text as a group, and guided reading, where I work with small groups of students on specific reading strategies tailored to their needs. Independent reading is also a cornerstone, allowing students to choose books that interest them and read at their own pace. We frequently incorporate book talks, where students share their favorite reads and recommend them to their peers, fostering a strong reading community. You'll also see students engaging in literature circles, where they discuss different aspects of the same book, and reading response journals, where they reflect on their understanding and personal connections to the texts.\r\n\r\n It's been wonderful to witness how these new books have resonated with our students. We've seen a noticeable increase in reading engagement across the board. The stools have also been an exciting addition to the classroom.
