The specific edition of Othello you funded is a game-changer for my classroom; its targeted layout and resources provide invaluable scaffolding for my English Learners (EL), allowing them to access complex classical literature without feeling overwhelmed. Because of you, the daunting barrier of Shakespearean language is transformed into an exciting, accessible literary journey.\r\n\r\nMany of my students arrive at school facing food insecurity, and having nutritious snacks on hand means they can focus on analyzing character motivations and themes rather than worrying about an empty stomach. \r\n\r\nYour investment in our classroom sends a powerful message to my students: that their education matters, and that a community of people they've never met believes in their potential. In our classroom, students spend many hours learning programming, problem-solving, digital design, and other important computer science skills. Before your donation, our classroom seating was limited and outdated, making it difficult for students to remain comfortable and focused during lessons and projects. Thanks to your generosity, we are now able to provide proper seating for every student in the classroom.\r\n\r\nThe new office chairs have already transformed the atmosphere of our learning space. Students are more comfortable, engaged, and excited to participate in class activities. A comfortable environment may seem like a small detail, but it has a powerful impact on students' concentration, motivation, and overall learning experience. Your support has helped create a classroom where students can better focus on developing the technical and critical-thinking skills they will use throughout their lives.\r\n\r\nBeyond the physical improvement to our classroom, your donation sends an even more important message to our students: that people in the community believe in them and care about their education. Many students are inspired when they see others investing in their future. Your generosity encourages them to work harder, dream bigger, and appreciate the value of giving back to others.\r\n\r\nAs an educator, I am especially grateful for supporters like you who recognize the importance of investing in education and technology. Resources for classrooms are often limited, and donations such as yours help bridge the gap and provide opportunities that might not otherwise be possible. Your contribution will continue to benefit students for many years to come, and its impact will be felt far beyond the walls of our classroom.\r\n\r\nPlease accept our sincere appreciation for your generosity, compassion, and commitment to supporting education. A core piece of this framework involves having students work on collaborative tasks in random groups at vertical, non-permanent surfaces (our whiteboards). Because the students are standing up and sharing a single marker per group, they are actively talking, debating, and co-constructing knowledge rather than working in isolation.\r\n\r\nHaving a reliable, vibrant supply of Expo pens is essential for this to work. Instead of only learning psychology vocabulary from a textbook, students were able to dive into real-world ideas about memory, motivation, addiction, perseverance, decision-making, and human behavior through engaging, accessible books written for a broad audience. These texts helped students connect psychology to their own lives and experiences in meaningful ways.\r\n\r\nStudents were eager to browse the new additions to our classroom library, choose topics that interest them personally, discuss what they were reading about, and reflect on how psychology applies to the world around them. One student who read The Molecule of More by Daniel Lieberman wrote about how learning about dopamine changed the way he thinks about motivation and satisfaction. He reflected on how people can become trapped constantly chasing \"more\" without appreciating what they already have, and how understanding brain chemistry can help people make healthier, more balanced decisions. Moments like this show students moving beyond memorization and into genuine critical thinking and self-reflection.\r\n\r\nThis project also supported students in ways beyond academics. The classroom supplies and hygiene items helped students feel comfortable and cared for, while the motivational incentives encouraged greater participation and confidence. Together, these resources helped create a classroom environment where students felt valued, curious, and motivated to learn. We also use the whiteboards for quick team responses during class challenges and review games. These resources have transformed ordinary classroom moments into engaging opportunities for students to think critically, communicate clearly, and support one another.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, the room immediately filled with excitement and curiosity. They could not wait to begin playing and learning together. Many students who are usually quiet or hesitant became more involved and confident as they participated in the games with their classmates. It has been wonderful to watch students laugh together, encourage one another, and celebrate each other's successes.\r\n\r\nBeyond academics, these activities are helping students strengthen important social-emotional skills. As they strategize, solve problems, and work through challenges together, they are building empathy, resilience, teamwork, and confidence. These playful, low-stakes moments help reduce stress, strengthen peer relationships, and create a connected classroom community where students feel safe, supported, and valued.\r\n\r\nMy next steps are to continue incorporating these games into classroom lessons, small group activities, and social-emotional learning experiences. Students will use the materials during vocabulary practice, critical thinking challenges, communication exercises, and collaborative review activities.
