While many people are familiar with using technology at home for entertainment or work, the way we integrate it into our learning environment is powerful and transformative. In our classroom, students use laptops and tablets daily to access personalized reading programs, engage in math challenges, watch science videos, and complete assessments. With your donation, every student now has access to clear, uninterrupted audio, which helps them focus, comprehend better, and engage more deeply with their lessons.\r\n\r\nThe students were incredibly excited to receive the new headphones—many even exclaimed that they felt \"more like real scholars\" when they put them on! One student who typically struggles with reading has been using a text-to-speech program and now beams with pride when he completes a full assignment independently. We've been using the new resources every single day in our special education classroom, and the difference they're making is remarkable. One especially meaningful moment came during our morning circle time. With the new poly spots, students now have clearly defined, comfortable seating areas, which has helped create more structure and focus. The big yoga balls, weighted blankets and sloth have been game-changers for students who need sensory input to feel calm and grounded. Whether they're bouncing to release energy or using the blankets for a quiet moment, these tools are helping students self-regulate in ways that support their learning.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the students expressed excitement, as they always do when seeing new items in class. The expandable plastic sensory ball was an instant favorite—they were fascinated by how it opened and closed, and many used it as a calming tool throughout the day. Seeing the colorful card stock, wooden stamp set, and pencil grips made students eager to participate in writing and art activities. For some, it was the first time they felt confident holding a pencil.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we're using these resources to support a unit on self-expression and communication with parents, along with creating academic activities with card stock. The address labels will be used to help with daily communication with parents on how and what their child did in school.
