This sense of ownership has translated directly into their work; because the environment feels like a high-level research lab, they have started approaching their assignments with the mindset of actual scientists.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, our next step is a Genetic Probability Project. Students will be simulating several generations of genetic inheritance, using their calculators to determine the statistical ratios and percentages of specific traits appearing in a population. This project requires precise data tracking and complex calculations to understand how dominant and recessive genes propagate over time. A recent game we played had students racing to find synonyms and antonyms for words in the lyrics of their favorite musical artist.
