We are writing to say a massive, heartfelt THANK YOU from our fifth-grade class! When we found out our Donors Choose project was funded, the whole room cheered. Your generosity brought the Zen STEM Lego wall and our new Thinking Corner straight into our classroom, and it has improved how we learn and create every day.\r\n\r\nThe Lego wall has become our favorite spot to engineer bridges, design 3D patterns, and collaborate on tough STEM challenges. When we need a break from all the hard work that comes with fifth grade, the thinking corner gives us a peaceful, comfortable space to clear our minds, read, and reset. The large magnetic whiteboard paper came in handy with our paragraph writing assignment, it was a great visual aid for different learning styles. My class loves the extra seat cushions, we now have enough for all 25 students and the extra cushions are used on the trapezoid table where groups can sit and work.\r\n\r\nThe class absolutely loves the snacks! The mints came in handy during testing to keep their minds awake and alert. Their eyes lit up with curiosity when the boxes were delivered and they wondered what was in each of them. We were able to stretch the snacks to last for a month. The little tables made great space savers for working. My class got creative and put the little plastic table on top of their desk. Their laptops went on top of the plastic table and their worksheet stayed on the desk. It might seem like a small thing, changing chairs to stools, but it makes an impact in a small room. Interactive environments, with movement and collaboration requires seating that allows students to be more mobile and flexible and that's exactly what this donation provided students. Upon seeing the stools for the first time, some students were so excited! Students choose the type of seating they prefer, and most will choose a stool.\r\n\r\nOne picture shows how inconspicuous the stools are and how students working on a craft are still mobile and able to stand or sit as they work. The stools also allow for more space between tables, so students have more room to walk freely. This donation allows the room to feel light and removes some of the environmental barriers/friction. It feels comfortable, allowing students to lower their affective filter which is the first step to acquiring a second language and which will reap benefits every day, every year.","fullyFundedDate":1729370595197,"projectUrl":"project/quick-and-flexible-group-transformations/8885125/","projectTitle":"Quick and Flexible Group Transformations","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. M.","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp2605903_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1456131495036","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/cmabuni"},{"teacherId":2105810,"projectId":10103326,"letterContent":"Thank you yet again for helping our media group to create quality broadcasts.
