Most of my students are multilingual learners, and something as simple as having their own pens, notebooks, and materials helps them participate more confidently in class. The journalism textbook has been especially valuable because it helped me build a structured curriculum for my journalism students. They are learning how to interview, gather information, and write stories that will appear in our yearbook, which gives them a real sense that their voices matter.\r\n\r\nThe other items have helped create a more focused learning environment. The headphones allow students to listen to instructional content and work independently without distractions. The sanitizing products help us keep a clean and comfortable classroom space. One item that has been particularly helpful this year is the phone holder. With our new phone policy, having a designated place for phones has reduced distractions and helped students stay present and engaged during instruction.\r\n\r\nThis project also opened my eyes to how much support students truly need when it comes to basic classroom resources. I am still working to gather additional supplies, but what you provided has been enough to fully support at least one class set of students. That alone has made a noticeable difference in how smoothly our lessons run and how prepared students feel when they walk into the room. Thank you for investing in my students and helping create a classroom where they have the tools they need to learn, write, and share their stories.","fullyFundedDate":1765733810799,"projectUrl":"project/access-equity-and-student-voice-in-eso/9958417/","projectTitle":"Access, Equity, and Student Voice in ESOL ELA and Journalism","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Luke","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10383964"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_103350","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1123,"numTeachers":71,"percentFrplEligible":74,"percentAsian":3,"percentBlack":53,"percentWhite":15,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":20,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"15.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":40.4,"schoolId":103350,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about New Hampstead High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"New Hampstead High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/georgia/savannah-chatham-county-school-district/new-hampstead-high-school/103350"}
