Your generosity has given our students an exciting opportunity to learn through hands-on exploration, observation, and real-world problem-solving. Our new system allows students to explore the connections between fish, plants, water, and the environment while seeing science come to life right before their eyes. When the students first saw all the materials, they were excited and curious to discover how everything would work together. They were especially interested in learning how fish and plants could help support one another in a growing system without traditional soil.\r\n\r\nAs Montessori students, our learners thrive when they can take ownership of their learning, ask questions, and discover answers through experience. This project gives them opportunities to practice responsibility, collaboration, and critical thinking as they observe the system, learn about the needs of the fish and plants, and monitor changes over time. Students can make predictions, collect data, and connect their discoveries to lessons in biology, ecosystems, water cycles, and sustainability. What makes this project especially meaningful is that the students aren't just reading about these concepts in a book; they have a living system in our classroom that they can care for and learn from every day!\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to continue exploring how the fish and plants work together in a balanced ecosystem, track plant growth, observe the water conditions, and learn how to maintain a healthy environment for all living things in the system. We look forward to watching our students develop a deeper understanding of where food comes from, how living things depend on one another, and how innovative growing methods can help address real world challenges. Most importantly, this project encourages our students to become curious scientists, responsible caretakers, and thoughtful problem solvers. Thank you for investing in their learning and helping us create a classroom experience that will continue to inspire discovery and wonder for months to come!","fullyFundedDate":1789676832471,"projectUrl":"project/hydroponic-fish-garden/10624697/","projectTitle":"Hydroponic Fish Garden","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Jessica Price","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7596650_orig.png?crop=294,294,x43,y103&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1602874313842","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7596650"},{"teacherId":7596650,"projectId":10476033,"letterContent":"Our students were so excited to receive the Stellar Spellers materials! The new spelling resources have added an engaging, hands-on element to our Montessori classroom and have given students more opportunities to practice spelling independently and at their own pace. Students enjoy choosing the materials during their work cycle, building and practicing words, and checking their own work. It has been wonderful to watch their confidence grow as they discover that they can work through spelling challenges independently.\r\n\r\nThese materials have also allowed us to make spelling practice more meaningful and individualized. Students are able to revisit skills they are still developing while extending their learning when they are ready for a new challenge. Our next steps are to continue incorporating the Stellar Spellers materials into our daily work cycle and use them alongside our reading and writing lessons.
